Michigan Football played host to a “who’s who” of top recruits this past weekend, and even garnered some predictions to eventually land 2 of their top targets in the 2026 class. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
Michigan has been hosting a bevy of highly ranked recruits in the month of June, and the feedback from this past weekend is starting to roll in. Many recruits and family are speaking to how comfortable they feel with the coaching staff and the program as a whole.
Michigan ranks ‘very high’ for four-star WR
The Wolverines are certainly looking to add more firepower to their future offense, and 2026 four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson would fit that bill. He was on campus this past weekend and, according to On3’s EJ Holland ($), came away very impressed afte his fourth visit to campus.
“The visit was great,” Johnson said. “They always treat me like a priority. This time, I got to spend more time with the guys, especially my Virginia guys. I feel like every visit we’ve been on at Michigan has felt like an official visit. It’s just great getting back every time.”
The connections he has with fellow Virginia natives, as well as the relationships he has with Michigan coaches, seems to sit really well with Johnson.
“My meeting with them was great,” Johnson said. “They said they didn’t have a quarterback to throw the ball last year. This year, they do, so it’s going to be different. Coach Lindsey develops quarterbacks. He had Drake Maye at UNC. He has Bryce (Underwood) now. It’s going to be fun to watch.
Johnson has already made official visits to South Carolina, Indiana and Penn State and plans to make a decision on July 4. On3’s Holland, Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong have all logged predictions for Johnson to commit to Michigan.
Top prospect in Utah details visit to Ann Arbor
Salesi Moa is currently listed as the No. 6 athlete in the 2026 class, but Michigan has a more specific plan for him if he commits to the Wolverines. He officially visited Michigan over the weekend and described how Michigan views him being used.
”It all sounded great to me,” Moa told 247Sports’ Blair Angulo ($). “It was a great official visit and we had an amazing time. They want me to play nickel and some post safety, but they also think I can make an impact as a punt returner. That caught my attention, for sure. I know on offense they are run heavy, so focusing on defense at Michigan would be the main thing.
“They hold each other accountable in everything they do, from the meetings to the weight room, and you can really see the culture there. Michigan was great overall. We had a good time as a family and it was really good to hear what the coaches had for us in terms of breaking down their vision.”
Michigan State , Utah, and Washington have also received official visits from Moa. He plans to visit Tennesee next. He indicated he will commit sometime in July, but offered no firm date.
Moa comes from a football rich family. His father played at Utah and his brothers currently play at Michigan State and UConn , respectively.
Family of four-star CB wowed by Michigan official visit
Michigan also played host to 2026 four-star cornerback Andre Clarke , who was accompanied on his visit by his father, Andre Clarke Sr. The elder Clarke had nothing but positive feedback following the family’s trip to Ann Arbor, according to On3’s Holland ($).
“We’ve been talking for a while now and you know me, my biggest thing as a dad is I have to know the men my son is going to be around,” Andre Sr. said. “Football will take care of itself. He’s a good athlete. I believe anybody can put some good coaching into him and bring the best out of him. But at the end of the day, I need some real men in his life.
“Like I told coach (Sherrone) Moore, he could be Dre’s father figure for the next 3-4 years. That’s very important to me and my wife. We have to make sure he’s in the right hands. We felt comfortable at Michigan. It was everything we expected and then some.”
Clarke is listed as a safety, but similar to other prospects, Michigan made is clear it views him as a corner. The Clarke family sees that Michigan could use some more help on the outside in this class; in fact, they were told by the staff Clarke is a “need” and not just a “want.”
He is listed as No. 184 overall in the class and the No. 6 player in Virginia. Clarke has also been predicted by Simmons, Wilftong and Holland to commit to Michigan.
