Four-star Nate Marshall was terrific at the Navy All-American Bowl over the weekend, while Michigan stays in the mix with several four-stars in the 2026 class. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The slow time of the recruiting calendar is upon us. While some 2025 recruits get on campus as early enrollees and younger prospects set up visits for Junior Days, this is one of the only lulls for recruiting for the entire year.
Nonetheless, we have recruiting updates to get to in today’s Recruiting Roundup, starting with a prospect that impressed many over the weekend.
Michigan edge shines in Navy All-American Bowl
Nate Marshall , a 6-foot-3, 240-pound four-star edge rusher, was a standout at the Navy All-American Bowl over the weekend. The matchup features some of the best high school players in the country, and Marshall is no exception.
The Oak Park (IL.) native wreaked havoc for the West team, which also featured five-star offensive lineman Andrew Babalola and four-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh. Marshall recorded a hurry and a sack in the fourth quarter, demonstrating his outstanding power and athleticism. He also pressured the East team’s quarterback more often than not
His performance did not go unnoticed.

Even with guys like Derrick Moore and TJ Guy returning, the Wolverines tend to rely on a rotation of defensive linemen. Marshall will have plenty of opportunities to earn playing time as a first-year player if he continues to make plays like he did in the All-American game.
Wolverines in pursuit of four-star DB
Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan is proving to be one of the best young recruiters in the country. He brought in a terrific class in his first cycle in Ann Arbor and is already working on highly-touted defensive backs in the 2026 recruiting class, including four-star Boca Raton (FL.) West Boca prospect Jaydin Broadnax.
“I’ve been having good conversations with Michigan,” Broadnax recently told On3’ s EJ Holland. “I talk to coach Morgan every other week. He tells me how much they need me, how I fit into the defense and how I’m a priority for them. He’s cool. He said they can’t wait to get me back to campus.”
Broadnax is listed as a safety on the recruiting services, but Michigan and Morgan have been recruiting him to play cornerback.
“With me being 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, he sees me as a good fit (at cornerback),” Broadnax said. “(Morgan) said I could form into a big, athletic corner at Michigan. I like what they do a lot.”
Broadnax made an unofficial visit over the summer and wants to make a return trip soon.
Michigan in play for four-star IOL
2026 Prosper (TX.) four-star offensive lineman Zaden Krempin holds offers from nearly 50 schools. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder is looking forward to Junior Day visits this winter and wants to see how coaches at various programs “truly coach.”
Krempin is also cognizant that football — while valuable — is not everything in the recruiting process.
“My parents told me that you want to go to a school that if you didn’t play football, you’d still want to go there,” Krempin told On3’ s Chad Simmons. “You’d still live in that town even if you weren’t going to college there. I’m trying to find a place like that.”
Krempin also talked about seeing some “crazy crowds” on recruiting visits. One of those environments was at Michigan.
“I’m pretty close with them at Michigan,” Krempin said. “I like coach Sherrone Moore and coach Grant Newsome. There are a bunch of great coaches and players there.”
Krempin is not planning to commit and shut down his recruitment any time soon. However, he does know that he will be taking some official visits in the summertime and wants to have a decision made shortly thereafter.
When the time comes for him to narrow down his list of suitors, expect Michigan to be on that top list.
Michigan hosts elite 2027 QB
Highly touted 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor was back in Ann Arbor on Sunday. The Wolverines are high up on his board, along with Big Ten foe Illinois, and have hosted Taylor many times already throughout his recruitment.
Had a great time @UMichFootball . Talked some ball with @Coach_Sinagoga . Sorry I missed you @ChipLindsey11 will catch up with you after the dead period. “Biggest takeaway was that coach (Sherrone) Moore’s fingerprints are starting to show up all over the program,” Taylor told On3 ’s Steve Wiltfong. “And love that coach (Josh) Sinagoga is allowed to coach on the field now, which is important to me.”
While new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey was out of town this past weekend, Taylor did note that he looks forward to meeting with Lindsey in person on his next visit to Michigan.
Besides Illinois and Michigan, the programs Taylor is most keen on are Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ohio State , South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss , NC State , Iowa, West Virginia and LSU .
