One of the two Michigan commits for the 2026 class is visiting a few blue blood SEC schools. This story and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The Michigan Wolverines continue their hard work on the recruiting trail, with an emphasis being getting prospects on campus this spring and summer. However, one of their own committed players is deciding to test the waters with some SEC schools and will visit those programs later this year.
Four-star CB commit taking official visits to a pair of SEC schools
Brody Jennings has been committed to the Wolverines since last July, but he continues to listen to other schools. In fact, the four-star cornerback in the 2026 class has locked in some trips prior to his official visit to Michigan the weekend of June 20.
“I will be at Alabama in May and Georgia on June 13 for official visits,” Jennings told On3. “Those two and the one to Michigan are the ones I have set right now, but I look forward to taking more.”
While Jennings is taking visits to other programs, he still feels good about his commitment.
“I love Michigan,” Jennings said. “It’s a great spot for me. They love me too. That’s part of why I committed. I’m going to visit other schools, but I’m still 1,000 percent locked in with Michigan.”
If another school can poach Jennings from the Wolverines, it won’t be the first time a Jennings has flipped from Michigan. Brody’s older brother, Branden, was once committed to Michigan only to later pick Maryland.
It looks like LaMar Morgan and Michigan have some work to do to keep Jennings fulled locked in. Hopefully his visit to Ann Arbor reminds him why he committed in the first place.
Two four-star DBs impressed with LaMar Morgan, Michigan
Should things not work out with Jennings, Morgan and the Wolverines will thankfully have plenty of options in the secondary. Morgan is vigorously recruiting a couple players in particular— four-star safety Blake Stewart and four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas .
According to On3 , Morgan really has built a strong relationship with Stewart.
“I like that he’s helping his players on and off the field, with their major, helping them become a better man and just the football as well,” Stewart said.
Stewart is considering taking multiple trips to Michigan this year, including this spring. He also hopes to take an official visit.
Thomas had similar praise.
“Michigan was amazing,” Thomas told On3 . “I got to spend time with coach Morgan and the recruiters. I got to know coach Morgan and saw his plan for me. It was an overall great visit. Coach Moore said great things about me. He said I’m the No. 1 guy and that I’m a program starter. He thinks the class can revolve around me.
“(Morgan) sees me as a corner who can be moved inside to play nickel like Mike Sainristil. He sees me as a versatile player, but I can also follow the other team’s best receiver.”
Thomas is holding off on making any plans and is leaning towards making a commitment in the spring. He did say that Michigan is “definitely one of my top priorities,” so it appears the Wolverines sit in a very good spot with him as he inches closer to making a decision.
Another top RB on Michigan’s radar
On the offensive side of the ball, Tony Alford and the Wolverines plan to take at least one top running back in the 2026 class. Five-star Savion Hiter (June 13) — who has Michigan in his final four list — and four-star Javion Osborne (June 20) have already locked in their official visits to Ann Arbor, but a new target may be emerging as well.
According to 247Sports , four-star Brian Bonner intends to visit Michigan on March 27. He is also planning visits to Washington on March 8 and Penn State on April 7.
The California native just recently picked up an offer from Michigan on Jan. 31, and his quick decision to visit Michigan proves his legitimate interest in the program.
In addition to Washington and Penn State, Michigan will be competing against UCLA, USC, Georgia, Nebraska and Oregon for Bonner’s commitment. He visited each of those schools last season, so they may have the edge in this recruitment as of today.
Bonner had a stellar junior year at Valencia High School, as he ran for 1,493 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also had 40 catches for 498 yards and four touchdowns.
