Things are heating up for Michigan as it looks land a commitment from one of the top defensive lineman in the 2026 class. We cover that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
June is a huge month for the Michigan Wolverines in terms of recruiting. Every weekend is packed with important prospects officially visiting Ann Arbor, and the next few weeks will have a major impact on the Wolverines’ 2026 class.
Let’s take a look at the some of the latest storylines in this edition of Recruiting Roundup.
Michigan a finalist for four-star DL
2026 four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis is down to two schools — Michigan and Alabama, according to 247Sports’ Allen Trieu ($) .
The top-100 overall player already officially visited Alabama, and he was supposed to visit USC and Penn State. However, he canceled those trips with his eyes on the Wolverines and Crimson Tide.
Michigan will host Davis the weekend of June 20. The coaching staff will have to make a good pitch, as the Crimson Tide have done a good job recruiting the Missouri native. Once he wraps up his visit with the Wolverines, he should be close to making a decision.
Four-star RB visits Michigan
One important visitor that was in Ann Arbor last week is 2026 four-star running back Ryan Estrada , according to On3’s EJ Holland ($). He took a midweek official last week, which was a quick trip considering he was just offered by the Wolverines on May 23.
Estrada was supposed to take an official visit to Wisconsin over the weekend, but he didn’t end up going there. Still, the Wolverines have some stiff competition here from Missouri, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Alabama and Oklahoma. He already took visits to Oklahoma State and Missouri, and he will be visiting Alabama and Minnesota soon. Oklahoma recently offered and could receive a visit as well.
In terms of a decision date, Estrada doesn’t have anything planned yet. He will likely start thinking about that more after he has wrapped up these visits.
The top target for the Wolverines at the position in the class is five-star Savion Hiter, but it sounds like Estrada might be No. 2 after four-star Javian Osborne committed to Notre Dame earlier this year and four-star Amari Latimer skipped his official visit to Michigan this past weekend in favor of a second consecutive visit to Wisconsin.
Four-star edge talks Michigan official visit
2026 four-star edge McHale Blade took his official visit to Michigan over the weekend, and it sounds like it was a success for the Wolverines.
“I always have a great time when I visit Ann Arbor and it is starting to feel like home,” Blade told On3’s Chad Simmons ($) .
Something that has stood out to Blade regarding Michigan is the transparency the coaching staff has had with him. In fact, Blade said that he was told this past weekend he is “a priority, and I felt that on this visit.”
Blade came into this visit wanting to accomplish some things he didn’t do on his previous visits, and it sounds like he was able to do that during his three-day stay.
“Michigan is very high up on my list,” Blade said. “Since I’ve been in Ann Arbor multiple times, my main goal was to really just get around the players more and I accomplished that goal this weekend. This school is definitely a good fit for me.”
