Michigan is among the top schools for a 2026 four-star offensive lineman playing in the Navy All-American bowl this weekend. That and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The holidays are over and 2025 is here, and with the New Year comes plenty of recruiting news as the Michigan Wolverines work to build their roster beyond the upcoming season.
Let’s dive into the latest news, starting with a 2026 offensive lineman Michigan has had its eye on for a while now.
2026 four-star OL talks Michigan ahead of Navy All-American game
2026 four-star offensive lineman Felix Ojo is among the 100+ high school football players who will be in San Antonio, Texas this weekend for the Navy All-American Bowl.
On the 247Sports composite, the Mansfield, Texas native is rated 130th overall, 11th among offensive tackles and 14th among players from the Lone Star state. He said last month that Michigan is “standing higher than the other (schools)” recruiting him. He was in Ann Arbor last summer for the BBQ at the Big House .
The 6-foot-6, 275-pounder spoke again about his top schools with On3’s Steve Wiltfong ($), listing Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas and Oklahoma in that group.
“The culture, hospitality and just the overall direction the program is going in,” he said of what he liked about Michigan.
Ojo doesn’t have any official visits set yet, but he’s hoping to take some to Ole Miss, Florida and Notre Dame. If Michigan can get Ojo back on campus and land a commitment, he’d be the first offensive lineman in the class to commit to the Wolverines.
Michigan among schools four-star DL is high on
When he first picked up an offer from Michigan last summer, 2026 four-star defensive lineman Elijah Golden posted that Michigan was “my dream college.” Six months later, the Wolverines are still high on his list of potential schools.
In an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons ($) ahead of the Navy All-American Bowl, Golden said Michigan was among the schools “doing a good job of recruiting him,” along with Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Washington. He also mentioned Clemson and Miami have his attention.
Golden — ranked 170th nationally on the composite, 21st among defensive linemen and 26th among recruits from Florida — has not visited Michigan yet. He is hoping to announce his decision before or during his senior season, so there is still time for the Wolverines to get him up to Ann Arbor.
“I’m big on everything, such as relationships, NIL and how a school is going to use me,” Golden said. “That is the biggest thing for me, how a school is going to use me. In college… I want to play multiple positions. I want to play d-end, d-tackle and nose tackle, everything on the defensive line, because I’ve been doing that all my life.”
Michigan set to visit top 2026 TE target
Tight end has been a priority position on the recruiting trail for years now, and it sounds like staffers will be heading west to see one of the best in the 2026 class.
Reported by Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider ($) , Michigan will be in Montana to visit four-star tight end Matt Ludwig on Friday.
On the composite , Ludwig is ranked 269th overall and first among Montana recruits. He most recently visited Michigan for the MSU game , and also has offers from Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Wisconsin, among others .
Michigan was included in Ludwig’s top-four last week, and Wiltfong logged a prediction in favor of Michigan.
Traveling more than 1,500 miles certainly shows a commitment from Michigan’s staff, so hopefully they can leave that visit with a commitment.
