Four-star linebacker includes Michigan in top four with official visit on the calendar
It’s always a good sign when a recruit includes your school in a narrow top list, and that’s exactly the case for Michigan with four-star linebacker Nick Abrams .
Abrams, who visited Michigan earlier this spring , is down to Michigan, Alabama, Georgia and Oregon. The Owing Mills, Maryland native clarified that no school is in the lead for him at this point.
“Their message to me has been the same,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons ($) . Each school talks about how gifted I am athletically and mentally and how they like my traits. These schools have a family atmosphere, they are all transparent and they develop players.”
Abrams plans to take his official visits to all four of his finalists, and his trip to Michigan will happen the weekend of June 6.
“The tradition at Michigan stands out,” Abrams said. “They do things in a certain order and a certain way. They are on schedule and the players follow it, grow and it prepares them for the NFL. Then Michigan has the best of both worlds. They have great football and they just won a national championship, then it is one of the best public schools in the country academically.”
Abrams is hoping to commit by his birthday, July 16.
Four-star OL includes Michigan in top four, sets decision date
Sherrone Moore and his staff have prioritized offensive line play on the recruiting trail, and that includes one of the best swing guys in four-star Leo Delaney.
Delaney visited Michigan about a month ago and received a Crystal Ball to commit to Michigan. He plays at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, the same prep program quarterback Jadyn Davis and wide receiver Channing Goodwin attended.
“I have built some great relationships with great coaches, so it was tough to tell some schools no, but what set these four schools apart for me were the culture, the programs, my relationship with the coaches and the possibility to win a national championship and the Joe Moore award,” Delaney told On3’s Simmons ($) .
Ahead of his July 11 commitment date, Delaney is down to Michigan, Clemson, Penn State and Tennessee. He says he doesn’t have a favorite, but he spoke highly of Michigan.
“The strength staff, the nutrition staff and the recovery staff all work so well together to help the development of the players,” Delaney said. “I love that. On top of that, there is great passion on that team and around that program. It is a great, blue-collar program.”
Five-star CB discusses Michigan offer and hoping to visit soon
Michigan defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan is pursuing one of the top-ranked defensive backs in the 2027 class.
Michigan recently extended an offer to cornerback Duvay Williams , a five-star that is ranked second overall in 2027 on the composite. Morgan traveled to California and extended to offer.
“They are a great team,” Williams said to The Wolverine’s EJ Holland ($) . “I like what they do with their DBs. I definitely feel like I can be part of that. DB is the hardest position on the field, and it was good to see Will Johnson there. If feel like I can go to the next level if I get my game to resemble his.”
Johnson just went in the second round of the NFL Draft , and Williams is hoping to be on a similar trajectory, with Morgan singing his praises.
“I got on the phone with coach Morgan, and he told me he liked my film and athleticism,” Williams said. “He said he likes my versatility and can see my playing anywhere in the secondary. He said I can be a big part of that Michigan defense.”
While nothing is set in stone, he is hoping to visit Ann Arbor soon.
“I for sure want to get out there for a visit,” Williams said. “I want to make it out there as soon as possible. I want to build better relationships. I want to see the scenery and whether I like it there or not. I want to see if I can play early.”
Williams also has offers from Alabama, Georgia Ohio State, and Oregon, among several others.
One quick reminder
