Yet another five-star recruit has locked in a multi-day visit to Michigan this spring. We have that and much more in a loaded Recruiting Roundup:
With spring camp opening next Tuesday, Michigan has emphasized getting top tier talent on campus to view practices, visit facilities and experience the magic of football in Ann Arbor. The Michigan Wolverines have added some elite talent to the upcoming visitors list, including yet another five-star along the offensive line.
Multi-day visit locked down for five-star OL
Michigan will get its turn to impress one of the top overall prospects in the country later this month. According to The Michigan Insider’s Steve Lorenz ($), 2026 five-star offensive lineman John Turntine III is expected to visit Ann Arbor from March 28-29.
This will be Turntine’s first known visit to Michigan. Back in January, he named the Wolverines to his top-10 list along with Texas, Tennessee, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, Texas A&M, Missouri, Stanford and SMU.
Michigan values multi-sport athletes on the recruiting trail, and the 6-foot-3.5, 275-pound Turntine fits that bill since he also competes in track and field.
Turntine is ranked at the 29th overall player and the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the class, according to 247Sport’s composite rankings. Texas currently has a pair of Crystal Ball predictions to land him.
Michigan offers another 2026 RB
Running backs coach Tony Alford has looked far and wide for his next batch of ball carriers. Michigan is already in on elite players in the 2026 class like five-star Savion Hiter, and four-stars Brian Bonner and Javian Osborne, but offering another top tier player at the position wouldn’t hurt.
Four-star Evan Hampton , who hails from Owensboro, Kentucky, was offered by Michigan during his Monday visit to campus. Hampton spoke glowingly of Michigan to 247Sports’ Allen Trieu ($) following the visit.
“The staff at Michigan is awesome,” Hampton said. “Coach Alford is the real deal and has produced some incredible running backs”.
Hampton has received a handful of offers from other good schools like Wisconsin, Indiana and Penn State, to name a few. However, his offer from Michigan appears to mean just a little more than the others.
“This offer stands out tremendously, truly being the RBU of all of college football. They stand high,” he said.
Hampton is the No. 26 ranked running back and No. 333 overall player in his class.
Elite 2027 QB set to visit Ann Arbor
The list of top recruits set to visit Ann Arbor this spring is only getting longer, as Benton (La.) 2027 four-star quarterback Malachi Zeigler will be checking out the Wolverines for the first time ever on March 29.
Zeigler highlighted his excitement for the upcoming visit with The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich ($).
“It’s my first time ever going to Michigan,” Zeigler said. “I’ve been talking to them since before the last season started, so I’ll get to finally connect with them in person. I’m looking forward to seeing how the coaches and players interact with each other and with me and my family. I’m also looking forward to seeing the Big House and the campus.
“I have a great connection with coach (Josh) Sinagoga. Coach (Chip) Lindsey is a really awesome guy as well. Just looking forward to finally meeting them face-to-face.”
Along with Michigan, Zeigler — who is a borderline five-star talent as the No. 28 overall prospect in his class — also holds offers from Baylor, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, TCU and more.
