The Michigan football team continues to host highly ranked recruits this spring, with one of the best QBs in the class set to be in Ann Arbor this week. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The next few months are going to be crucial for the Michigan Wolverines’ 2026 recruiting class. They finished with a top-10 class for the 2025 cycle, and with the way they have been getting top ranked recruits on campus this spring, they could be on their way to another highly ranked class again this cycle.
A lot of visits are lined up for the spring and summer months, and one of the highest regarded quarterback prospects in the nation is set to visit in a couple days.
Michigan hosting five-star QB this week
Five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons will be back in Ann Arbor this week for another visit. Lyons is the No. 16 overall player in the 2026 class and the No. 4 quarterback, according to 247Sports’ composite.
“Coach (Chip) Lindsey and coach (Sherrone) Moore are who have been recruiting me,” Lyons recently told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman ($) . “I like coach Lindsey a lot, he’s super personable and a super good coach. Coach Moore has been recruiting me hard to. He’s super young coach so he has lots of energy and you can feel his presence. He’s super easy to talk to.”
Lyons will be arriving in Ann Arbor on Wednesday through Friday. This is a big opportunity for the coaching staff to impress the coveted recruit.
There is a lot of competition for Michigan, and Lyons has some other big visits set up. He has already been to Ole Miss and BYU , and he is going to Ohio State, USC and Oregon in the coming months. Lyons admitted he’s “focusing on those six schools really.”
It’s unclear when Lyons will decide, but it might not be as far down the road as some think.
“It could happen sooner to be honest,” Lyons said. “I’m grateful for it all, but it’s stressful.”
Four-star ATH breaks down recent Michigan visit
The Wolverines recently hosted 2026 four-star athlete Salesi Moa on a visit, and they will be hosting him again in mid-June for an official visit. After the first visit, Michigan is in a good spot.
“What stood out to me the most was the standard they set for the players,” Moa told 247Sports’ Blair Angulo ($) . “The Wolverines are high on my list now that I saw everything in person. My relationship with the coaches is good — they all welcomed me and are transparent, so I really like that. We’ve got the official visit locked in.”
Utah, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Michigan are all hosting Moa on official visits in May and June, with Moa calling those trips “big for me.” He also officially visited Michigan State this past weekend, where his brother, Aisea, currently plays football.
Moa is No. 76 overall prospect and the No. 5 athlete in the class on the composite.
Michigan offers three-star QB
Over the weekend, the Wolverines offered 2026 three-star quarterback Nathan Bernhard .
As a junior last fall, Bernhard went 181-of-299 for 2,895 yards, 24 touchdowns and just four interceptions for Ashland High School in Ashland, Ohio. He also ran 206 times for 1,221 yards and 22 touchdowns.
At 6-foot-5 and 227 pounds, Bernhard holds other offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Louisville, Duke, Iowa State, West Virginia and more. He is ranked No. 30 at the position and No. 530 overall on the composite.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong spoke with him after he got the offer, and not long after that, he put in a prediction for Michigan to land Bernhard. Wiltfong also noted Bernhard could make a decision in the near future. We’ll keep you all updated on this recruitment when there are more developments to share.
