A five-star OL is hoping to schedule an official visit to Michigan for later this year. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
With the recent news that the Michigan football coaching staff isn’t on the road recruiting for the next couple weeks due to the final self-imposed penalties from Burgergate, there may be a lull in recruiting content until official visit season begins at the beginning of June.
Nonetheless, we do have some updates to still get to in today’s Recruiting Roundup, and we will start off with a top target on offense.
Michigan still in the mix with five-star OL
Darius Gary is viewed as one of the best offensive linemen in the entire 2026 class. The five-star (No. 29 overall) Virginia native visited Ann Arbor this spring and is a top target for Grant Newsome and Sherrone Moore.
“Michigan’s offensive line sells itself,” Gray told On3’s EJ Holland ($). “What coach Newsome and coach Moore have done with the offensive line is great. They sent six to the NFL in one year. That’s unheard of and shows the development going on at Michigan.”
With a loaded official visit schedule that includes visits to Ohio State, Penn State, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU and South Carolina, there is no room for Michigan to squeeze in an official this summer. However, the hope is that Gray returns to Ann Arbor for a game this fall prior to making his decision closer to signing day in December.
“Michigan is still in the top for me and my family,” Gray said. “It’s a school that will be in consideration. After they won the national championship, I knew I had to get down there. They’ve exceeded my expectations so far.”
Top-50 DB also hoping to officially visit Michigan
Davon Benjamin , a top-50 overall talent and the No. 5 safety in the 2026 class, is hoping to officially visit Michigan this summer, he told On3’s Ethan McDowell ($). He has yet to plan out any official visits, but Ann Arbor figures to be among his destinations in June.
The 6-foot, 170-pound California native plays at Oak Christian (the same school as Zach Charbonnet) and visited this spring. He has a strong relationship with position coach LaMar Morgan, which is one of the reasons why he is so interested in the Wolverines.
According to McDowell, other schools in the mix for Benjamin include Oregon, USC, Georgia, Texas, Miami, UNC and Washington.
Four-star WR schedules official visit to Michigan
According to On3’s Holland ($), 2026 four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson has locked in an official visit to Michigan for the weekend of June 13.
The Wolverines offered Robinson back in January, and even though they dropped off in communication with Robinson, according to Holland, they did a good job getting back in touch with him and making him feel like a priority.
Robinson, who is originally from Ohio and has family in the Midwest but currently resides in Texas, is also strongly considering Miami, Stanford and TCU . The only other official visit he has on the books for now is to Miami the weekend of June 20.
At 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, Robinson is tabbed as the No. 132 overall prospect in the class on 247Sports’ composite, along with being the No. 20 wide receiver and the No. 19 player from Texas.
