Some 2024 commits get to practice with the Wolverines this week.

Early National Signing Day happened last week, and with dozens of players committed to Michigan, a select handful will be able to practice with the team in preparation for the Rose Bowl.

Early Michigan enrollees participating in Rose Bowl practices

The Michigan Wolverines are preparing to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl , with the winner advancing to the National Championship.

There’s a lot to keep track of with the Wolverines this week, and one positive recruiting wrinkle surrounding this game is that 2024 signees who are also early enrollees get to participate in practice and help prepare for the playoff.

It’s a cool opportunity for recruits like linebacker Jeremiah Beasley, who told On3’s EJ Holland ($) about his experience working out with the team for the last week.

“It’s been different,” Beasley said. “The workouts are things I’ve never done. They workout everything in your body. Getting to practice has been really fun. I’ve been impressed with the way they handle practice. Nobody gets hurt. They move at a good, efficient pace. It’s really physical. They get to it and get it done.”

Other commits like offensive lineman Blake Frazier spoke about how pumped he was to be in Pasadena, saying he was excited to get a glimpse at how his future positional coach runs things.

“I’m excited to feel like part of the team,” Frazier said. “Obviously, these guys have worked their butts off to get to where they are at. I’m just adding on. I’m trying not to take it too much to heart in the sense that this is their team, and I’m just a guest. But I’m also super happy and excited to watch and learn how the program operates and how coach (Sherrone) Moore coaches.”

This is a really cool opportunity for the incoming freshmen, so hopefully they’re able to learn a thing or two before enrolling in January.

Four-star TE plans to visit in January

While a lot of focus has been on the 2024 class lately, there’s still plenty of 2025 players the Wolverines have their sights set on, including four-star tight end Marshall Pritchett .

The Rabun Gap, Georgia native was impressed by Michigan during his visit for the Purdue game and said in early November the Wolverines were at the top of his list. He told Brice Marich with The Michigan Insider ($) he plans to visit Ann Arbor again next month.

“I do fully plan on visiting Michigan during one of the January dates,” Pritchett said. “I’m going to try and visit North Carolina, USC, Miami, Virginia Tech , Georgia Tech , Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida State , Tennessee and Auburn all in January and the first week of February.”

Pritchett knows he’s high on Michigan’s radar. The Wolverines have yet to land a 2025 tight end, and Pritchett could very well be the first.

“The feeling is mutual with me and Michigan,” Pritchett said. “They are in my top of the top schools currently and it’s a great feeling knowing the No. 1 school in the country is recruiting me heavily.”

Michigan pursuing three-star New Jersey DL

One of the many recruits to sign with the Wolverines last week was defensive lineman Owen Wafle , and the Wolverines are hoping to land one of his high school teammates.

The Wolverines have been pursuing 2025 three-star defensive lineman Kole Briehler since Wafle committed. Briehler told The Michigan Insider ($) that defensive line coach Mike Elston texts him regularly.

“I talk to him weekly and he has even came out to one of our practices,” Briehler said. “He is a very great coach, but even more a great guy.”

Briehler said he loves to play alongside Wafle, but that’s not the only reason why the Wolverines are high on his list.

“I love the winning culture and how well they develop their defensive linemen,” Briehler said. “Michigan is definitely in my top three.”
