The advisor for five-star Savion Hiter, the No. 1 running back in the 2026 and a top Michigan target, expanded on his official visit to Ann Arbor last weekend. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
June is a key month on the recruiting calendar. The Michigan Wolverines know that and are pursuing several top recruits that have officially visited this month, including their top overall target in the 2026 class.
Advisor for five-star RB goes in-depth on visit
Five-star Savion Hiter , the No. 1 running back in the 2026 class and a top Michigan target, was among the players who officially visited Ann Arbor last weekend. Adam McCann, Hiter’s advisor, spoke about the visit with The Wolverine’s EJ Holland ($) .
“They always roll out the blue carpet for Savion,” McCann said. “Every time he’s on campus, they show him what a main priority looks like both on and off the field. They do a great job of showing us their game plan and how they are actually going to use him. How they talk to Savion, how they talk to his family and how they treat me stands out. Other schools just treat me like an agent. They do everything the right way. They have a very warm welcome for Savion every time.”
Building a relationship between coaches and players have always been a key part of these visits, and that was no different here.
“Everything with coach Alford and coach Lindsey went well,” McCann said. “They have a clear plan. But they don’t want to say it, they want to prove it. Coach TA and Chip did a good job of proving it. Chip showed the development of running backs underneath him. We’re very confident in that. (Drake) Maye went Top 3 and (Omarion) Hampton went first round. His plan is for all the top guys to get the ball. He knows how to showcase them and get them drafted.”
McCann sees Michigan as a great spot for Hiter, who is likely to commit before the end of the summer.
“Even before this visit, I saw Savion as a fit at Michigan,” McCann said. “Just the way Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall interact with him is great. I know how Savion interacts with people, and he’s comfortable. He’s a perfect fit on and off the field. He fits their Michigan Man puzzle. I think he screams everything they want out of a kid and family.”
Up next is Hiter’s official visit to Tennessee this weekend before figuring out where he wants to attend college.
Four-star S discusses Michigan official visit
2026 four-star safety Chace Calicut also took his official visit to Michigan last weekend and had rave reviews for his time in Ann Arbor.
“I really liked Michigan a lot, more than I thought I was going to like it,” Calicut told Holland ($) . “I like the players there. They keep it real. They told me the ups and downs about it. Everything is top of the line. My Top 3 — Michigan, Texas and Georgia — you’re getting top of the line everything. It really comes down to relationships with coaches and players. That will be the difference.”
A big part of his visit was meeting with the defensive coaches so he could hear about how Michigan would plan to use him.
“I really got a chance to hear what coach Wink had to say and how I fit into his defense,” Calicut said. “It was the same thing with coach Morgan. He told me I had a good shot of playing my freshman year. They play five DBs and sometimes even six. They see me everywhere — safety, corner, everything.”
Calicut will officially visit Texas this weekend, just a week before his scheduled commitment date of June 27.
Four-star S also talks official visit
After a couple weeks of pushing back his official visit to Michigan, 2026 four-star safety Jordan Deck finally to to Ann Arbor last weekend and discussed it with Holland ($) .
“I had already been to Michigan once, so it was pretty much just seeing familiar faces,” Deck said. “I thought it went really well. I really liked it. I had fun with the players. I got to see more of the campus and what campus life is like. I got to see where I would be staying. I also got to see more of the defensive scheme. It was great.”
Deck was hosted by twins Tevis and T.J. Metcalf, who transferred from Arkansas to Michigan this offseason.
“I’ve known TJ and Tevis since they were at Arkansas, so they were familiar faces,” Deck said. “It was a good time. They said it’s everything they thought it would be and that the culture doesn’t lie. Everything they saw on their visit was exactly how it is.”
Deck will officially visit Baylor this weekend before committing on July 5.
