Michigan is hosting one of the best players in the 2026 recruiting class in a few weeks, and he is looking forward to that trip. We break down that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
With the summer months right around the corner, we are entering a crucial recruiting stretch for the Michigan Wolverines . They have a lot of big official visits on the calendar, and they need to make a good impression.
In today’s Recruiting Roundup, we’ll discuss some of the players that will be on campus next month for an official visit.
Five-star OL talks upcoming visit
Five-star offensive lineman Felix Ojo is one of the best players in the 2026 class, and he is one of Michigan’s top targets. The Wolverines are hosting Ojo the weekend of June 6, and it will be a big opportunity for the players and staff to impress him.
“I want to develop more of a relationship with the players,” Ojo told On3’s EJ Holland ($) . “I want to see more of Michigan from a player’s point of view. That’s pretty much it. I’m just excited to get back out there and spend more time with the coaches.”
Michigan has done an exceptional job with offensive linemen in recent years, and Ojo has seen that from a distance. Another thing that bodes well for Michigan is head coach Sherrone Moore’s experience as offensive line coach and being a former lineman himself. That has helped him build a good relationship with Ojo, and Newsome has formed a strong bond with him as well.
Ojo is from Texas, but distance doesn’t sound like a concern.
“Distance isn’t a problem for me,” he said. “I’m taking officials out of the state. It’s really just going to come down to what’s the best fit for me. At the end of the day, I want to trust the coaches to develop me into a first round caliber player. Just where I feel at home.”
Ojo also has official visits scheduled with Florida, Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma.
Four-star S ‘very high’ on Michigan
Another recruit Michigan is trending in the right direction with is 2026 four-star safety Jordan Deck . He has already been to Ann Arbor once, but he will be back in a couple of weeks for his official visit.
“I saw everything I needed to see on that first visit,” Deck told On3’s Holland ($) . “But I would say talking more to the coaching staff and the players. That would be nice. Just getting to know them a little bit more.”
Defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan has spent a good amount of time recruiting Deck. The two are building a strong relationship, and Deck had good things to say about Moore as well.
“I like Coach Morgan,” Deck said. “He’s a very honest person. He doesn’t yell, but he’s not a pushover. When you make a mistake, he doesn’t get on you crazy. He teaches you. I really like that about him … I think coach Moore is a good dude. He’s all about his players. He’s very player driven.”
One big factor for Deck is he is confident he can find the field as a freshman if he ends up choosing Michigan.
“They have multiple packages,” Deck said. “I feel like I can get my way onto the field as a freshman in one of those packages. They do a lot of different things. It’s not a one trick pony. I really like the way they run the defense.”
Penn State and Baylor are the teams that Michigan has to worry about the most. The Texas native has official visits lined up with both schools, and he will also visit UCLA and Ole Miss. Deck recently took an official visit to Colorado as well.
