After putting the final touches on a strong 2025 recruiting class with a recent commitment from German center Malick Kordel , the Michigan Wolverines turn their attention to the 2026 class. Just within the last several weeks, Michigan has offered a series of players.
Recruits that have received an offer from Michigan in recent weeks
- Four-star guard Tarris Bouie
- Four-star forward Luca Foster
- Four-star forward Bryson Howard
- Four-star center Favour Ibe
- Three-star guard Carlos Medlock Jr.
- Three-star forward Quinn Costello
Bouie is currently considered one of the top high school recruits out of Ohio and is the No. 74 overall player in the class, according to 247Sports’ composite. He would be a building block for the Wolverines’ 2026 class, but they face stiff competition from Alabama, Cincinnati, Marquette, Missouri and Ole Miss, among others.

Foster has continued to rise up the recruiting rankings in recent months, climbing to the 97th overall recruit in the class. Cincinnati, Georgetown, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Villanova are among the schools targeting Foster as well.
Other 2026 recruits that have received scholarship offers from the Wolverines recently include four-star forward Bryson Howard, four-star center Favour Ibe and three-star forward Quinn Costello. Howard doesn’t have a composite score yet, but 247 has the Frisco, Texas native listed at No. 60 overall in the class. Meanwhile, Ibe is a 7-foot-1 center from Maryland, while Costello is a 6-foot-10 power forward out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Highest ranked prospects that Michigan previously offered
- Five-star guard Brandon McCoy
- Five-star guard Jordan Smith
- Five-star forward Tyran Stokes
- Five-star forward Miikka Muurinen
- Five-star forward Anthony Thompson
- Five-star forward Toni Bryant

- Four-star forward Jaxon Richardson
- Four-star guard Ikenna Alozie
- Four-star guard Deron Rippey Jr.
- Four-star forward Christopher Washington Jr.

Not only have the Wolverines extended offers to several notable recruits this month, but they have expressed serious interest in some of the nation’s top prospects. Stokes (No. 1) and McCoy (No. 2) are the two highest rated recruits in the 2026 class — Michigan is a long shot at the moment to land either of them.
However, Muurinen, Thompson, Richardson and Bryant are more realistic targets. Muurinen and Thompson are both skilled forwards that are top-10 overall prospects , and Muurinen even took an official visit to Michigan last September. Thompson is an Ohio native and has also taken a trip to Ann Arbor in the past. Bryant told On3 recently he will take an official visit to Michigan on Oct. 17.

- Four-star guard Felipe Quinones

There are tons of other recruits that could eventually become a key part of the Wolverines’ upcoming class. Tristan Reed is the brother of former Michigan standout and current UConn center Tarris Reed Jr. Four-star guard Felipe Quinones, four-star forward T.J. Crumble and four-star center Sam Funches are other players to keep a close eye on.

Michigan built an impressive first class under May’s leadership, and it will be key to keep the momentum going and put together another good group in 2026. It’s clear they are hitting the recruiting trail hard, extending offers to 29 players in the class, and it’s only a matter of time before some of these prospects commit to the Wolverines.
