Is a 2-game suspension too severe of a punishment for Sherrone Moore? Vote in this edition of SB Nation Reacts.

Per a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Dan Wetzel , Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore is expected to serve a two-game suspension during the 2025 season in relation to the Connor Stalions advanced scouting investigation.
This suspension is self-imposed by Michigan and the report stated the NCAA “could still further punish Moore in addition to any self-imposed school penalty”. Michigan and the NCAA are set to meet about the investigation on June 6 and 7.
Moore’s suspension would reportedly occur in Week 3 and Week 4 of the season, against Central Michigan and Nebraska. He will be barred from any team-related activities during this duration.
The issue with Moore being suspended in a self-imposed manner or receiving further discipline by the NCAA is should he even receive punishment at all? Moore allegedly deleted 52 text messages between he and Stalions. Yahoo! Sports previously reported that Michigan contends the texts were “innocuous and not material to the investigation” and that Moore cooperated fully with the investigation. Further, none of the texts were specifically about the in-person advanced scouting system.
That leads us to our SB Nation Reacts poll question of the week, would a 2-game suspension be too severe of a punishment? Vote below.
If this was a court of law and not an NCAA committee on infractions, there wouldn’t be evidence to prosecute a case against Moore. Texting with Stalions about things not related to the investigation shouldn’t be damning. Moore deleting text messages shouldn’t be reason enough for a suspension, especially since the deleted texts were uncovered and didn’t divulge any bombshells.
