Michigan will be underdogs in three of the four matchups. ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index) gives Michigan a 22% chance of beating Oregon, an 18% chance of beating Indiana, and a 7.6% chance of defeating the rival Ohio State Buckeyes. The FPI gives Michigan an 81.2% chance of beating Northwestern.
If Michigan is to finish the season above .500 and defy the odds they’re going to have to play spoiler, but do they have it in them? Their win against Michigan State was a step in the right direction. Michigan didn’t have a turnover or even commit a penalty against MSU, and had quarterback play from Davis Warren reminiscent of Cade McNamara in 2021.
