Michigan is coming off a Big Ten Tournament Championship and are the No. 5 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan (25-9) will be taking on No. 12 UC San Diego (30-4) on Thursday night in the First Round. If Michigan beats UC San Diego they’ll face either No. 4 Texas A&M (22-10) or No. 12 Yale (22-7) in the Second Round.
In this edition of SB Nation Reacts we want to know how many wins you think Michigan will have this weekend. One, two, or zero?
Michigan’s regular season fizzled out with three straight losses but the Big Ten Tournament gave the Wolverines a chance to regain their footing ahead of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan had three wins in the Big Ten Tournament, 86-68 over Purdue, 81-80 versus Maryland, and 59-53 over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship. Their next opponent has even more momentum — UC San Diego have won 15 straight. Although this is UC San Diego’s NCAA Tournament debut, they shouldn’t be taken lightly.
