Ranking the Top 5 OL in the Big Ten for the 2025 football season

In a conference known for physical dominance, there are bound to be a ton of high-quality guys in the trenches. Here are the top five offensive linemen in the Big Ten heading into the 2025 season:

To win the Big Ten, you must have a dominant offensive line and be able to run the football in the cold weather in the north. The teams that will be in the upper third of the conference’s 18 teams will have some of the best units in the conference. But which individual players will lead the way?

Here are the Top 5 offensive linemen in the conference heading into 2025.

No. 5 – Iapani Laloulu, Oregon

The Ducks were a finalist for the Joe Moore Award last season. After hitting the portal for three new starters on the line, Laloulu will be the only returner from that group. Still, they are expected both from Dan Lanning and by many national analysts to be one of the best in college football.

Laloulu has played both guard and center in Eugene, giving him flexibility to maneuver around the line as the newcomers settle in from the portal. Last season, he allowed no sacks and only 10 pressures in nearly 500 pass-blocking snaps. After being a Big Ten honorable mention last year, Laloulu is primed for a bigger role in the locker room and on the field with his second full season as a starter coming in 2025.

No. 4 – Olaivavega Ioane, Penn State

“Vega” Ioane is likely the next of the stud offensive linemen that Penn State produces. It’s rare that you find a guy as big as him at 334 pounds, who moves as quickly as he does. The psychotic coaches in Happy Valley put this guy at slot receiver, put him in motion, and had him destroy linebackers and safeties on the outside:

Entering his redshirt junior season, Ioane is expected to be one of the best linemen in the Big Ten after being a Big Ten Second Teamer in 2024. He’ll lead the way for the top running back duo in the conference.

No. 3 – OG Emmanuel Pregnon, Oregon

One of the best offensive linemen in the Big Ten in 2024 transferred from USC, but stayed in the conference, heading to rival Oregon as a grad transfer. Pregnon was a Freshman All-American at Nevada before moving to SoCal to play for the Trojans. He started 24 games at USC, earning a Second Team All-Big Ten designation in 2024 after allowing no sacks in his last 1,066 pass blocking snaps. The Ducks are set to be one of the top teams in the conference again, and they’ll be led by a talented and veteran offensive line.

No. 2 – T Genning Dunker, Iowa

Take a look at this graphic from PFF about the top graded offensive tackles in college football:

Hell yeah Gennings Dunker.

The photo on the right is great. Love my big fellas with a mustache and mullet. But more importantly, he ranked 4th per PFF’s scoring in overall grade. The two guys around him? Top 10 picks in April’s NFL Draft – Armand Membout and Kelvin Banks Jr.

Dunker has started 25 games for the Hawkeyes and was second-team All-Big Ten in 2024 (coaches). If he has a strong 2025 campaign, he could find himself as a Day 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

No. 1 – C Logan Jones, Iowa

The Hawkeyes should have a top-10 offensive line in college football, and Jones may be the best center in the nation. He’s made 38 career starts for Iowa and is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, having a first-team designation in 2024 (media). PFF scores Jones as the highest-rated returning center in the Power 4, and he has the chance to be a part of yet another dominant offensive line coming out of Iowa City.
