The Michigan athletics department is watching and waiting for good news as longtime administrator Greg Harden deals with serious health complications.

On Thursday, Michigan Athletics announced on social media that Harden had to remain hospitalized after complications from a procedure he underwent earlier this week.

“Long-time Michigan administrator Greg Harden went into the hospital for a procedure on Monday and has remained there due to complications,” the school announced. “Please keep Greg and his family in your thoughts and prayers and we ask that all respect their need for privacy at this time.”

Harden has worked with the University of Michigan athletics department for several decades and was even featured in a 2014 edition of 60 Minutes. He is a beloved figure in the program and fans have sent him thoughts, prayers and well-wishes in the hours since the announcement came out:

“A booming voice and mentor – both literally and figuratively – for anyone associated with Michigan Athletics,” one user wrote.

“Sending prayers to Greg Harden and his family,” wrote another.

“Prayers for one of my favorite all-time humans,” a third wrote.

“Healing prayers for Greg Harden, wisdom for the doctors and peace for Harden’s family,” said a fourth.
