Michigan freshman guard Durral ‘Phat Phat’ Brooks is entering the transfer portal, as first reported by Pete Nakos .
Brooks played in 15 games as a freshman, often entering as a defensive sub late in the first half in non-conference play. He was a former Michigan Mr. Basketball who originally committed to Juwan Howard.
Brooks is the fifth transfer to leave Michigan this offseason, joining junior guard Tre Donaldson, sophomore shooter Sam Walters, freshman guard Justin Pippen, and Jace Howard (who will pursue a medical redshirt).
Michigan has already been active in the transfer portal, landing commitments from North Carolina point guard Elliot Cadeau , UAB forward Yaxel Lendeborg and Illinois big man Morez Johnson Jr. The Wolverines also welcome McDonald’s All-American guard Trey McKenney and top-100 wing Winters Grady to the roster.
