Paul Finebaum Has 1 Word To Describe Michigan’s Loss To Texas

September 13, 2024 by The Spun

Michigan’s NCAA Football Cheating Scandal Explained (1:20)

Michigan didn’t just lose at home to newly-minted SEC power Texas, they suffered a blowout the likes of which we haven’t seen in the regular season in quite some time.

Naturally, Paul Finebaum had every reason to be smug about the Wolverines’ 31-12 win this week.

Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, Finebaum described Michigan’s performance against Texas this past Saturday as “inexcusable.”

He believes that Michigan should be in full panic mode and got a dig in at former head coach Jim Harbaugh in the process.

“Absolutely no patience. All panic here,” Finebaum said, via On3 . “That was just an inexcusable performance. I realized they were playing Texas, which is a very, very good team, if not a great team. But you’re at home, you’re the reigning national champion, show up at least. I mean, Texas beat them up and down the field on both sides of the line. Truly embarrassing. I’m sure somewhere Jim Harbaugh was saying, ‘Hey, I made a pretty good decision to get out of here,’” he said.

Finebaum may love teasing Michigan but that doesn’t make him wrong. Losing that badly to one of college football’s better teams doesn’t bode well for their College Football Playoff ambitions and national title defense – or even their upcoming regular season games.

Michigan have big games against USC, Oregon and Ohio State – all of which appear far more losable now that they lost to Texas.

Do you think Michigan should be panicking over the rest of the season?
