As first reported by Stevie Cozens , Michigan signee Oscar Goodman will reclassify to the 2024 class and join the program for the winter semester. Goodman is currently enrolled at Michigan and plans to redshirt this season, per Cozens.
Goodman just wrapped up his last event with the NBA Global Academy at the NBA Academy Winter Showcase . He’s played for the NBA Global Academy over the last few seasons while garnering reps on the New Zealand youth and senior national teams.
Goodman was named to the All-Star Five at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 17 points, 6.3 rebounds, and three assists per game while leading New Zealand to a semifinal appearance.
“Oscar arrives in Ann Arbor as an accomplished international player and prospect, who was just named to the New Zealand senior national team,” May said of Goodman when he signed in November. “He comes from a tight-knit family that values everything that we want our program to be about. His training at the NBA Academy, as well as his eagerness and ability to compete, will allow him to affect our program positively from day one.”
Goodman is a 6-foot-8 forward who is known for his skill and versatility, but also his physical frame and ability to finish around the basket.
Despite his early graduation, Goodman is still a young prospect who doesn’t turn 18 until February 5th.
