It’s July 1 and Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith just provided Michigan with great bulletin board material. Smith says he hates Michigan and promises he won’t lose to the Wolverines again.
Ohio State ’s Jeremiah Smith is the best receiver in the country and won a National Championship with the Buckeyes during his true freshman campaign. However, there’s one thing that Smith hasn’t done, and it seems to be bothering him — he hasn’t beaten Michigan. Smith expressed those frustrations in an interview with The Athletic .
“I’m not a sore loser, but I hate losing, and losing to that team up north was pretty crazy,” Smith said. “In the end, I think it really helped us play the way we did in the playoffs. But I didn’t want to go to Ohio State and lose to that team up north.”
Michigan beat Ohio State 13-10 last season in improbable fashion and now has won four in a row over their arch nemesis. Despite Michigan having Ohio State’s number in recent years, Smith is promising that he won’t lose to the Wolverines again.
“I just hate them. Just something about them. For the next two years, I promise you, I will not lose to them. I can’t lose to them in the next two years.”
Michigan and Ohio State play on Nov. 29 this season at Michigan Stadium. Smith has now provided major bulletin board material for Michigan. And while Michigan doesn’t need added motivation in a rivalry as big as this one, they surely won’t be forgetting Smith’s comments.
