The Ohio State Buckeyes are reportedly turning Michigan’s loss into their gain.
According to Eleven Warriors , the Bucks were able to land Wolverines graduate linebacker Joey Velazquez in the transfer portal in the aftermath of Jim Harbuagh’s departure.
Velazquez, a former three-star recruit, is a Columbus native and will walk-on at OSU this upcoming season.

In five years in Ann Arbor, the 6-foot, 222-pound LB appeared in 16 games where he recorded seven tackles and a fumble recovery on UM’s defense.
Velazquez also played baseball at Michigan where he was a four-year letterwinner in the Wolverines’ outfield, batting .255 for his career with nine home runs 51 RBI and 17 doubles.
Over the weekend, the graduate senior was spotted at James Laurinaitis’ house watching the Super Bowl with the rest of Ohio State’s linebacker room. His addition should only serve as another boost to a very deep Buckeyes roster in 2024.
