Michigan Basketball announced on Twitter that 6-foot-4 guard Nimari Burnett plans to return for the 2024-25 season.

Burnett averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 31.3 minutes per game in his first season in Ann Arbor. The former McDonald’s All-American had a career year after previous stops at Alabama and Texas Tech.
Burnett’s name was included on the 2024 NBA Draft early entry list earlier today . He hadn’t made any public declarations about his future plans after Juwan Howard was fired in March and Dusty May was hired as his replacement.
Burnett provides a solid floor at multiple perimeter spots for a Wolverine roster that has been completely overhauled this spring by Dusty May.
Burnett joins Will Tschetter as the second Wolverine to announce plans to return to Ann Arbor under May. Dug McDaniel, Terrance Williams II, Tarris Reed Jr., George Washington III and Youssef Khayat all opted to enter the transfer portal. Jace Howard has not announced whether he plans to use his COVID year of eligibility in Ann Arbor or not.
