J.J. McCarthy will get to showcase his skills in front of a plethora of NFL coaches and scouts this Friday at Michigan’s Pro Day.
Interestingly enough, one of the teams heavily linked to McCarthy isn’t expected to bring its most important staff members to Michigan for this event.
Moments ago, ESPN’s Matt Miller reported that Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell aren’t scheduled to attend McCarthy’s workout.
“MICHIGAN pro day today. Nine general managers and seven head coaches are scheduled to attend,” Miller shared on X . “Not on that list? Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell.”
For what it’s worth, the Vikings did send quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and assistant quarterbacks coach Grant Udinski to Ann Arbor to watch Michigan’s prospects.
The Vikings have been mentioned as a landing spot for McCarthy ever since they acquired another first-round pick from the Texans. They have the firepower to move up the draft board if they desire.
As of right now, the Vikings are the betting favorites to land McCarthy. That could change after today’s news, though.
McCarthy finished his final season of college football with 2,991 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
