The NCAA has revealed details about allegations of prohibited contact with recruits within the Michigan football program from 2021.
The notice first came in December but the details are now out for everyone to see and in the report, the NCAA has accused former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh of being “dishonest.”
Harbaugh violated the “NCAA principles of ethical conduct” and didn’t cooperate during an interview with investigators, per a report from the Detroit Free Press . He gave misleading answers during the interview.
“The violations involved unethical or dishonest conduct and a failure to cooperate, which are presumed Level I and seriously undermined or threatened the integrity of the NCAA Collegiate Mode,” the report reads .
This is why Michigan imposed a three-game suspension for Harbaugh at the beginning of the 2023-24 season. Once he served it, he came back to coach Michigan before he was suspended again at the end of the regular season because of the program’s sign-stealing scandal.
Harbaugh later went on to help Michigan win the Big Ten title and the national title in the College Football Playoff.
He’s now with the Los Angeles Chargers after becoming their next head coach during the offseason.
