The broadcast team was announced by NBC for Michigan’s season-opener against Fresno State next weekend, and the Wolverines will be getting the A-team once again:
The Michigan Wolverines are a little more than a week away from kicking off their 2024 college football season under the lights of the Big House against Fresno State.
The game will feature NBC’s A-team, as announced by the network on Tuesday. Noah Eagle will handle play-by-play duties, Todd Blackledge will serve as the color analyst, and Kathryn Tappen will be the sideline reporter for the game. They will call all primetime games for NBC this season, so if the Wolverines get another NBC night game this season, you can expect to see this pairing.
This won’t be the first time Michigan has seen this exact broadcast team, as they also called the Michigan-Minnesota game, as well as the Michigan-MSU game last season.
Sherrone Moore will kickoff his tenure as full-time head coach of the Wolverines during this game. After going 4-0 filling in for a suspended Jim Harbaugh last season — including big wins over Penn State and Ohio State — Moore earned the keys to the kingdom after Harbaugh left for the NFL. This, of course — as you might remember — followed Michigan’s 15-0 season, capped off by a Rose Bowl win over Alabama and a victory in the National Championship against Washington.
Moore will debut a new-look team in this game, as there will be a brand new starting quarterback, running back, wide receivers, and a completely new offensive line. There will also be new starters at the edge, linebacker, cornerback and safety positions on defense, but do return stars like Mason Graham, Will Johnson and Kenneth Grant.
We’ll see how this all goes soon enough, as Michigan vs. Fresno State is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 on NBC and Peacock.
