Mike Danna is a key part of a Kansas City defense that is hoping to win a third straight Super Bowl, and he played a huge role in the Chiefs’ defense shutting down Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills late in the AFC Championship:
After facing each other in the Super Bowl two years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles are seeking revenge over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and the new evil empire are attempting to three-peat for the first time in NFL history.
With this matchup, at least one former Wolverine will win a ring. There weren’t many Wolverines in action in Championship Weekend, but one defender certainly made an impact in his respective game.
Mike Danna has dominant performance
Edge rusher Mike Danna already has two Super Bowl rings in his five seasons, and he could win his third before turning 28.
He had one of his best games of the season in the AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills, racking up four tackles, a sack, two quarterback hits and this forced fumble in the second quarter, which took a few lucky bounces to get right back to Josh Allen.

Danna is part of a Kansas City defense where the sum is much greater than its parts. There are not a lot of big names on the defense, but players like Danna always seem to step up when the lights are brightest.
“We knew it was going to be a four-quarter battle, we knew it was going to be a four-down game,” Danna said after the game. “Guys on all three phases stepped up. We just found a way, man.”

Danna logged 3.5 sacks in the regular season. In 15 career playoff games, he has been credited with 26 tackles, eight quarterback hits and two sacks.
This will be Danna’s third Super Bowl appearance, but the Detroit native has yet to pick up a sack in the Super Bowl. He has a chance to change that on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
Brandon Graham attempting to play in Super Bowl after tearing triceps
There’s a chance Danna isn’t the only Michigan pass rusher taking part in the Super Bowl. According to a report from Marcus Hayes of The Philadelphia Inquirer , longtime Eagle Brandon Graham is attempting to make a comeback for the Super Bowl.
This comes after he previously said he was out for the season after tearing his triceps in a late November game against the Los Angeles Rams. Graham logged 3.5 sacks and 15 tackles in 11 games in 2024, and has racked up 5.5 sacks, 20 tackles and 10 quarterback hits in 13 career playoff games.
This was supposed to be a farewell season for the 15-year vet. As our friends at Bleeding Green Nation mentioned , a Super Bowl ring would be a great way to cap off an impressive pro career for Graham.
The Eagles beat the Commanders in the NFC Championship, 55-23. In that loss for the Commanders, cornerback Mike Sainristil logged five tackles and two passes defended.
