Last week, Kim Barnes Arico and the Michigan women’s basketball team landed their first 2026 recruit. Learn more about four-star shooting guard Devin Cosgriff:

On the 247Sports composite , Cosgriff ranks 63rd in the class, 12th among shooting guards and eighth among players from the talent-rich state of California.
Cosgriff is the type of ball handler that can thrive in Michigan’s offense. She’s explosive off the dribble, has a smooth handle and can score efficiently around the rim. The 5-foot-10 guard also has good form on her jump shot, knocking down threes from the wing on a quick release off the catch. You can watch some highlights of her on MaxPreps or Hudl .
Barnes Arico has always been a great recruiter, but she has kept the momentum going after signing a 2024 class that was the highest ranked in program history. As freshmen, three players from that class (five-stars Syla Swords and Olivia Olson and four-star Mila Holloway ) started for a Michigan team that finished fifth in the Big Ten and made it to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
In the 2025 class, Barnes Arico got three four-star players to sign up to play in Ann Arbor: 5-foot-10 guard McKenzie Mathurin, 6-foot-3 forward Ciara Byars and 6-foot-1 forward Jessica Fields.
Cosgriff is a solid start to Michigan’s 2026 recruiting class, and it’s only getting started.
