On Friday, the Michigan revealed its uniform combination for the matchup with Michigan State in the battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Here’s what the Wolverines will be sporting when they take the field under the lights:
Michigan and Michigan State will be kicking off under the lights on Saturday night for the annual battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. It should be a tight game with both teams entering with identical 4-3 records. But before the game begins, Michigan answered the always-important question of what uniform the players will be wearing for the game.
On Friday afternoon, Michigan announced it would be wearing its traditional blue jersey and maize pants. Additionally, the Wolverines will be sporting white accessories.

This Saturday represents the first time the Wolverines will be playing at home since a rain-soaked 27-24 victory against Minnesota all the way back in September. This will be Michigan’s sixth home game of the year, and the fourth that will feature the blue jerseys and maize pants. Michigan is 3-0 with that combination so far this year.
The maize pants are also a departure from what Michigan wore at home the last time it played against Michigan State in Ann Arbor, which was also a night game.
On the flip side, Michigan State announced earlier this week it would be wearing its green helmets with white jerseys and white pants.

The opposing combinations assure that we should have an aesthetically appealing “uniform battle” to supplement the game. We’ll have see how things pan out though when these two bitter rivals take the field at 7:30 p.m. eastern on the Big Ten Network.
