Two recruiting experts at On3, including the best in the biz in Steve Wiltfong, have officially cast their predictions for Sherrone Moore and Michigan to land 2025 five-star OL Ty Haywood. MORE:
After his official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend, On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have both cast predictions for the Michigan Wolverines to land the most coveted prospect remaining in the 2025 class — five-star offensive lineman Ty Haywood .
Here is what Wiltfong had to say about both of them casting their predictions:
On3 is hearing the trip went well as Haywood and his camp continue to connect with the Maize and Blue program.
Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, offensive line coach Grant Newsome and General Manager Sean Magee were out to see Haywood last week leading into the weekend official.
Haywood is a former Alabama commit that didn’t put pen to paper during the Early Signing Period. Michigan was one of the reasons and when Haywood told the Crimson Tide he wouldn’t be signing they too moved on.
Dialogue with Texas Tech and Florida State continues for Haywood, but Michigan has the pulse of the recruitment. With that, On3’s Chad Simmons and I have moved our predictions to the Wolverines.
With these two predictions, that brings the total of predictions in favor of Michigan to four on On3. There aren’t any predictions as of this writing on 247Sports, but The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich did write on Monday that “The Wolverines really have impressed Haywood and his family” and that “My confidence has grown and I’m feeling even better than I was heading into this trip.”
All in all, it sure sounds like good news could be on the horizon for Sherrone Moore and company as they try to land one more five-star prospect in the 2025 class. The class already has a five-star offensive lineman, so to be able to reel in another talented people mover — Haywood is 6-foot-5, 285 pounds — to protect quarterback Bryce Underwood would be massive for the Wolverines.
Nothing is official until Haywood announces it himself, but Michigan fans should be feeling optimistic about this one. As always, be on the lookout for more developments in this recruitment and many more right here on Maize n Brew.
