Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines are trying to pair up Bryce Underwood with the best of the best in the 2025 class, as Michigan just offered 2025 five-star edge Isaiah Gibson. The 6-4, 245-pounder is committed to Georgia:
The Michigan Wolverines are going all out to end the 2025 recruiting cycle. After landing five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood on Thursday evening, tons and tons of highly regarded prospects are lining up to potentially play in Ann Arbor as well.
The latest prospect to be offered by the Wolverines is another five-star — Georgia edge commit Isaiah Gibson . He announced the news on social media on Friday afternoon.

Gibson — the No. 9 overall player in the class and No. 1 edge — has been committed to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs since June. He took official visits to Georgia, Ohio State , Tennessee, South Carolina and Auburn prior to his commitment. At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Gibson is a pure pass rusher on the edge of the defensive line.
This is brand new territory for the Wolverines, who appear to be emptying the checking account with kids on the recruiting trail. Michigan also “re-offered” five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart — the No. 16 overall recruit and No. 3 defensive lineman — on Thursday evening following Underwood’s commitment. Other positive reactions have come in following that breaking news as well, and this is sure to have a massive rippling effect for not only Michigan’s 2025 class, but future classes as well.
247Sports’ Andrew Ivins scouted Gibson back in February and had this to say about him:
Long-limbed pass rusher that can close on quarterbacks. On the lighter side at this stage and lacks requisite play strength, but owns favorable features with a 7-foot wingspan and 10-inch hands on a frame that’s pushing 6-foot-4. Seems to be at his best when asked to attack the corner out of a two-point stance as he will cross offensive tackles and dart inside or outside. Active with the hands and will do his best to fight through blocks or hold up traffic. Rather quick-footed and has flashed the ability to work laterally, but improved flexibility will only allow him to change course much easier. Must also keep tinkering with his technique and add some more advanced moves to the menu if he wants to emerge as a true impact player up front. Should be viewed as a high-ceiling defender that could fit a variety of different roles given growth potential and gap-closing burst. Likely going to need a developmental year or two before he’s ready to go on Saturdays, but could work his way into the rotation relatively early and help generate pressure in obvious passing situations.
Michigan has just one edge commitment in the 2025 class from four-star Julius Holly. The Wolverines could use another body or two at the position to round out the class, so stay tuned for more news as it comes out.
