The 2025 college football season is fast approaching, and we are just beginning to get a taste of when the Michigan Wolverines will start their games this fall. On Thursday, the kickoff times for the first four games of the season were officially announced:
- Week 1 vs New Mexico: 7:30 p.m. on NBC
- Week 2 at Oklahoma: 7:30 p.m. on ABC
- Week 3 vs Central Michigan: Noon on Big Ten Network
- Week 4 at Nebraska: 3:30 p.m. on CBS
There is a ton of anticipation for the season to start. A new quarterback will be under center for the Wolverines, with Bryce Underwood, Jadyn Davis and Mikey Keene all battling for the starting job. Michigan will also have other new contributors all over the field, with guys like Clemson transfer defensive tackle Tre Williams, Indiana transfer wide receiver Donaven McCulley, true freshman cornerback Shamari Earls and others sure to factor in this year.
New Mexico went 5-7 a season ago, with its marquee victory of the year coming at home against a ranked Washington State team, 38-35. The Wolverines are huge favorites heading into this game.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma is gearing up for its biggest season in the Brent Venables era. After getting the transfer portal commitments of Cal running back Jaydn Ott and Washington State quarterback John Mateer, the Sooners’ offense should be lightyears better than it was a season ago.
Much like New Mexico, Central Michigan should be one of the easier games on the schedule for Michigan this year. The Chippewas went 4-8 last season and are expected to be among the worst teams in the MAC in 2025 under first-year head coach Matt Drinkall. Even without Sherrone Moore (for now, at least) sitting out this game, Michigan should be able to take care of business.
Finally, at Nebraska will be another big road test early in the season for Michigan. The Cornhuskers are hoping sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola takes a step forward this season and gets them back to national relevancy for the first time in a long time.
