The Wolverines will have to defy the odds in pursuit of a repeat national championship.
DraftKings Sportsbook recently released the odds for several Michigan Wolverines football games next season. Unsurprisingly, the Wolverines will be favored in several key matchups, but are currently projected as double-digit underdogs on the road against Ohio State .
Here are the odds that have been released for the Michigan Wolverines.
- Season opener: Fresno State vs. Michigan (-22). This comes as no surprise, although this is a smaller opening line than the -35 last season against East Carolina.
- Week 2: Texas vs. Michigan (+3). In what will be the marquee game of the second week of the season, the Wolverines are slight underdogs against a Texas team that is projected to be ranked inside the top-five of the initial AP Poll.
- Week 4: USC vs. Michigan (-11). USC will visit the Big House for the first time as a member of the Big Ten. Will the Trojans bring a defense with them?
- Week 6: Michigan (-9) vs. Washington. The Wolverines’ first road test of the season doesn’t come until Week 6 in a National Championship rematch. However, as much change as Michigan went through in the offseason, Washington endured more.
- Week 8: Michigan State vs. Michigan (-24.5). Well, that would be closer than last year at least.
- Week 9: Oregon vs. Michigan (+2.5). Michigan is projected to be home underdogs once more against an Oregon team that could open the season ranked inside of the top-three.
- Week 12: Michigan (+10) vs. Ohio State. The Wolverines are projected to be double-digit underdogs to Ohio State for the first time since 2017 .
The good news is with the expansion of the College Football Playoff, losing a couple regular season games will no longer tank the season. According to DraftKings, the Wolverines have the fourth-best odds to win the Big Ten (+550) and the eighth-best odds to win the National Championship (+2,000). Michigan’s win total is currently set at nine.
