The Dusty May era for Michigan men’s basketball started off strong last season with a Big Ten Tournament Championship and a run to the Sweet Sixteen, and now the expectations for the 2025-26 campaign are now a lot higher with UAB transfer Yaxel Lendeborg officially joining the Wolverines.

Earlier in the week, we asked Michigan fans what they think the ceiling for Michigan next month with Lendeborg in the fold. The results indicate that the fans have massively high expectations.

60% of fans think Michigan’s ceiling is a National Championship, while 35% say a Final Four appearance. How Michigan fans feel aligns with how the betting markets have responded to Lendeborg now being a Wolverine. Per DraftKings Sportsbook , Michigan has the fourth-best odds of winning the National Championship currently at +1500.
Lendeborg was the No. 1-ranked player in the transfer portal and would have been a first-round selection in the NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from it and committing to the Wolverines. The 6-foot-9 Lendeborg, who’s 22, averaged 17.7 points per game last season with 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals while shooting 55% from 2-point range and 36% from 3.
