Michigan basketball fans have officially had enough of head coach Juwan Howard.
Last night the Wolverines suffered their 11th loss of the season, falling to No. 14 Illinois 88-73. That loss was their sixth in the last seven games and has dropped the to 7-11 on the season – the worst record in the Big Ten Conference by far.
Dating back to the end of last season, the Wolverines have lost 15 of their last 23 games.
After missing the NCAA Tournament entirely in 2023, Michigan’s Big Ten regular season title and Elite Eight appearance in 2021 feels like a million years ago now.
As a result, there is no shortage of fans calling for Howard to be fired:

Juwan Howard took over as head coach of the Wolverines following the departure of John Beilein in 2019. After going 19-12 during the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season, Howard led the Wolverines to a Big Ten regular season title and a trip to the Elite Eight in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The year after that, Howard went 19-15 and took Michigan to the Sweet 16.
But last year the team went 18-16, getting eliminated in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament before falling in the NIT’s Second Round.
Will Juwan Howard get fired in the middle of the season?
