The Demon Deacons will host the Wolverines on Nov. 10, 2024 at a neutral site in Greensboro, according to Adam Zagoria . Michigan will host during the 2025-26 season in Detroit, likely at Little Caesars Arena.
Wake Forest is entering the fifth season of the Steve Forbes era. In the last three seasons, the program has become a solid team in the ACC. The Demon Deacons won 25 games in 2021-22, but were stunned by an 11-win Boston College team in overtime of the ACC Tournament . They failed to make the NCAA Tournament despite being a bubble team.
Senior forward and former five-star recruit Efton Reid will pose a tough matchup for the Wolverines, averaging 9.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game thanks to his 7-foot frame. Wake Forest projects to have another strong team next season, so Michigan will get a good challenge early in the season.
It should be an early test for May and a newly configured roster that has quite a bit of promise. May has said the schedules for upcoming seasons are being put together with the assistance of a third-party company that Michigan has hired: “(We) are working with them to try and choose the teams that will help us as far as seeding in the NCAA Tournament, but also teams that play a certain style.”
How long until we see the schedule fully set for 2024-25? “We are getting very, very close,” said May. “The easiest games to schedule are the only ones that we have remaining at this point.”
