
The Michigan Wolverines are back in the top-15 of the AP Poll after winning the Big Ten Tournament:
After a wild week that saw Michigan earn three more Quad 1 wins and win the Big Ten Tournament , the Wolverines made a significant jump in the AP Pol l.
Michigan jumped eight spots to No. 14, the largest jump out of any team in the poll. It places Michigan fourth among Big Ten teams, behind Michigan State (No. 8), Maryland (No. 11) and Wisconsin (No. 13). In the USA Today coaches poll , Michigan jumped six spots to No. 15.
Michigan finished the season with a 25-9 overall record and a 14-6 conference regular season record, improving on the overall record with wins over Purdue , Maryland and Wisconsin to win the program’s first Big Ten Tournament title since 2018.
The NCAA tournament didn’t appear to award the Wolverines for their efforts in the Big Ten tournament, giving the Wolverines a 5-seed in the South Region, the same region as the No. 1 overall seed in Auburn.

A note on the women’s team
Michigan’s women’s team did not play this past calendar week, with the women’s Big Ten Tournament happening one week prior. Michigan was unranked in the poll yet again, earning 31 votes from the media, the second-most out of unranked teams.
The Wolverines finished the season 22-10 and 11-7 in conference play, earning the second-most votes by the media among unranked teams in the AP Poll. The Wolverines slightly improved their tournament resume last week after picking up wins over Washington and Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament last week before a respectable loss to the top-seeded USC in the semifinals.
