FIRST HALF
Michigan got off to a slow start by missing three straight layups and going scoreless for nearly three minutes to open the game. However, the offense found a rhythm midway through the first half, putting together an 11-0 run to take a 26-16 lead.
The Wolverines seized control as Nimari Burnett and Will Tschetter knocked down two three-pointers each to extend the early lead and force Oregon to call a timeout. This was followed by Danny Wolf drilling a smooth step-back triple to beat the shot clock buzzer.

Oregon quickly responded to get the deficit back into single digits, but Michigan remained in front as Goldin threw down a fast-break slam in the final minute of the half. That put the Wolverines up 41-36 at halftime.
Wolf led the offense in the opening half with 10 points and eight rebounds. Burnett and Tschetter compiled a combined 18 points as the Wolverines shot 6-of-16 from three-point territory in the first half.
SECOND HALF
On the opening possession of the half, Michigan ran a beautiful play that resulted in Burnett finding Goldin for a floater . Wolf continued to dominate just moments laters, as he snuck into the paint and converted an and-one to take a 46-38 advantage.
The Ducks had momentum as they cut the deficit to 64-56, but Burnett came up with a huge steal in transition that led to Tschetter being fouled on a three-pointer. Tschetter made all three free throws to give the Wolverines some breathing room.
Oregon refused to quit, as TJ Bamba scored five straight points to get the Ducks within seven at the under-eight timeout. Bamba later finished a fast-break layup to trim the Wolverines’ lead to 72-68 with just over four minutes to go.
Michigan went cold in the final minutes but eventually found a way to hold off the Ducks by getting just enough stops to escape with a win. Wolf put the finishing touches on the 80-76 victory with a game-sealing block in the final seconds.
UP NEXT
The Wolverines will look to keep their three-game winning streak going on Saturday at Indiana (1 p.m., CBS). Indiana has lost four consecutive games and is 14-9 overall and 5-7 in Big Ten play.
Despite failing to live up to preseason expectations, the Hoosiers have plenty of talent in the frontcourt that could present problems for Michigan. Oumar Ballo leads Indiana with 14 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, while Mackenzie Mgbako and Malik Reneau are also key contributors. The Wolverines have fared well at Assembly Hall recently, going 4-1 in the last five visits.
