New Mexico and Central Michigan will be coming to the Big House.
The Michigan Wolverines athletic department announced on Wednesday afternoon a pair of non-conference opponents for the 2025 football season. The slate will see Michigan open the year against New Mexico on Aug. 30 with Central Michigan coming to town on Sept. 13.
The game between Michigan and New Mexico will be the first meeting between the two teams each of the program’s history. The Lobos are the seventh team from the Mountain West to match up with the Wolverines, who hold a 11-3 record against schools from that conference.
Following a trip to Oklahoma on Sept. 6, Michigan will host the Chippewas for the fifth time as they look to keep their unbeaten streak in the series alive. The last time that CMU came to Ann Arbor was a 59-9 victory for the Wolverines in the season opener in 2013.
Michigan’s 2025 non-conference slate is now set with the games mentioned above. Conference play will open on Sept. 20 with a trip to Maryland prior to a Sept. 27 tilt with Nebraska on the road. The bye week is schedule for Oct. 4.
