According to his Instagram page, Michigan Football LB Jaydon Hood recently underwent a successful surgery:
The Michigan Wolverines appear to be down a linebacker heading into the summer, as Jaydon Hood posted a photo on his social media that recently underwent a successful surgery. It isn’t known what exactly the surgery was for, but it looks like a lower-body injury of some sort. His leg appears to be in a pretty sizable cast.

Hood came to Michigan as a four-star recruit in the 2021 class. He played in two games as a true freshman in 2021, and followed that up with three appearances in 2022. He really emerged as a redshirt sophomore in 2023, playing in 12 games — with six of those being on defense — and contributing 13 tackles and one forced fumble.
This past season, Hood saw playing time in 11 games and compiled nine tackles and one tackle for loss.
While Hood recovers, the position group remains strong with guys like Ernest Hausmann, Jaishawn Barham, Jimmy Rolder and Cole Sullivan expected to play significant snaps this fall. True freshmen Chase Taylor and Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng could also figure into the rotation at some point — both looked good in the spring game and looked ready to make an impact early in their careers.
Hopefully Hood is able to make a full recovery and return to football activities in the near future.
