We’re more than two months removed from Michigan beating Alabama in overtime of the Rose Bowl.
Alabama gave Michigan everything it could handle but in the end, the latter won and then won it all less than two weeks later.
Nick Saban eventually retired but had some interesting things to say after coming to that decision. He thinks a good chunk of Alabama players were only concerned about their playing time and that gave Joel Klatt the opinion that the program wasn’t as “devoted” as Michigan was.
“I don’t think Michigan should have been able to beat Alabama. Alabama was the more talented team, Georgia was a more talented team. Ohio State was a more talented team. Michigan was just committed more,” Klatt said , (first transcribed by Saturday Tradition ).
Kalen DeBoer will now be tasked with getting the team to be more “devoted” for the upcoming season. He took over for Saban after he announced his retirement in January.
Alabama has a lot of returning talent for the 2024 season but it’ll still have a lot of programs gunning after them, including Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas.
