Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh had a weird comparison for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe this Wednesday.
Harbaugh oddly compared Milroe to Michigan’s backup quarterback, Alex Orji.
“He’s like a real polished Alex Orji,” Harbaugh said, via 247Sports . “The athletic skillset, the playmaking ability, just the ability to extend plays — make plays — is really … the volume of the work and how it’s progressed is really impressive.”
It’s easy to understand why Alabama fans would be insulted by that comment. However, it’s important to note that Harbaugh also said Milroe’s athleticism is “scary.”
“We’ve seen it before our eyes right now with Alex Orji. And it scares me a little bit that Jalen Milroe would be as athletic as Alex Orji, because Alex is like the most scariest, athletic guy on our whole team. So, okay, that’s a little scary.”

Milroe has shown improvement just about every week of the 2023 season. He enters the Rose Bowl with 2,718 passing yards, 468 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns.
If Michigan is going to advance to the national title game, it’ll need to prevent Milroe from running wild.
Kickoff for the Rose Bowl is at 5 p.m. ET on Monday.
