It’s a new era of Michigan basketball and a new era of podcasts at UM Hoops.
It’s been over a year since the last podcast episode was released, and it’s time for that to change. A podcast is back for 2024-25!
It’s not The Moving Screen or The Pin Down. Instead, it has a far less creative name: The UM Hoops Podcast. The plan is to consolidate the elements that made both podcasts successful into one feed, one podcast, and one product.
We are scheduled to release two weekly episodes, one with Eric Shapiro, my former co-host for The Pin Down, on Mondays or Tuesdays, and then one rotating episode. The rotating episode will feature different guests with different insights. This might mean a podcast with an old friend, a preview of an upcoming matchup with another beat writer, or a small group of recurring guests. The podcast will primarily focus on Michigan basketball, but these mid-week episodes will sometimes venture more broadly around the Big Ten or college basketball landscape.
As with anything, the plan is subject to change once we begin.
New episodes will be released on what was the podcast feed for The Moving Screen, but you may need to re-subscribe wherever you receive podcasts. The first episode focuses almost entirely on Vlad Goldin, Danny Wolf and Michigan’s plan to play two bigs.
The podcast is available everywhere that you can listen to podcasts (YouTube will be coming soon).
