Dusty May was on the road this weekend in Indianapolis for the third session of the Nike EYBL circuit. It was the first live evaluation period of the offseason, and May was front and center to start focusing on high school recruiting after a busy portal season in Ann Arbor.
One of the main events of the weekend, May sat courtside to watch class of 2025 combo guard Dorian Jones and his All Ohio-Red team take on the Nightrydas Elite program. Featuring a number of future high-level Division I players, May got an opportunity to watch Jones live in person before his upcoming visit to Ann Arbor on June 4th.
Jones had dropped a top ten list — Rutgers, Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Houston, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and USC — in January without Michigan, but is now considering the Wolverines after the coaching change. With his recruitment still open, May still has an opportunity to land the versatile guard. Despite the yet early stages of their relationship, Jones is excited about his upcoming visit to Michigan.
“Absolutely (Michigan has) a pretty good history,” Jones said of his knowledge of the Wolverines on Monday. “I watched their games the past couple of years. I watched Dusty, actually, too, when he was coaching at (Florida Atlantic), and I like the way he coaches, I like the way he runs a program, and if I go there, I’m sure I’ll be in good hands.”
