With the NCAA vs House Settlement now finalized paving the way for colleges to pay players, how should Michigan Football distribute the money? From recruiting to the transfer portal to roster retention, what should be priority No. 1 for the Wolverines?

With the NCAA vs House settlement now approved, there is a new revenue sharing model for the University of Michigan Athletics Deparment. Michigan and other schools are able to share $20.5 million in revenue with student-athletes. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel has said in the past that he expects 75% of that revenue ($15.38 million) to go to football.
In this edition of SB Nation Reacts, we want to know how Michigan Football should divvy up money each year to build its roster. Recruiting, the transfer portal, or roster retention — which should be Michigan’s top priority with this money? Vote below.
The bottom line is that all three of the options in the survey are important and are likely to vary in importance year by year. Michigan ranked No. 35 in 247 Sports transfer portal team rankings (added 15 players, lost 30), while they ranked No. 6 in recruiting rankings. It’ll be interesting to see if Michigan’s portal rankings are higher next season with revenue sharing now in the mix.
