Michigan’s not having its best year on the field, but Sherrone Moore has assembled quite the recruiting class for 2025. Here’s a look at how each player in the ‘25 class has performed this season.
While there hasn’t been much to cheer about on the field for the Wolverines this fall, Michigan and Sherrone Moore have been assembling quite the recruiting class behind the scenes. The class has grown in recent weeks, thanks to a push from the coaching staff this fall, and has worked its way up to being ranked in the top ten nationally, depending on which service you prefer.
Today, we’ll be taking a look at each player currently committed to Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class. We’ll cover some updates from their senior seasons, any recruiting updates, and what they could bring to Michigan in the coming years.
Players are listed below in the order they are ranked by the 247Sports Composite :
Five-Stars
OT Andrew Babalola
The five-star Kansas native figures to be the big fish of Michigan’s 2025 class. He’s been committed to the program since the end of October and should be a force on the line of scrimmage for years to come. Believe it or not, his senior season is only his second of varsity football, but he seems to be adjusting rather well considering his recruiting status.
Check out the scouting report we recently did on Babalola by clicking here.
Four-Stars
S Ivan Taylor
Well, four-star Ivan Taylor might not be a part of the class for much longer with Alabama gaining some momentum in his recruitment, but he’s still a solid player that any program would be lucky to have. According to MaxPreps , Taylor has compiled 50 tackles and four interceptions as a senior this fall. We’ll see if the Wolverines can hang on, but the writing might be on the wall.
WR Andrew Marsh
The best offensive skill player in Michigan’s class, Andrew Marsh will look to infuse some talent into the receiver room in Ann Arbor. Per MaxPreps, Marsh has caught 41 passes for 841 yards and nine touchdowns in nine games this season against some stiff competition in Texas.

TE Andrew Olesh
Andrew Olesh could be the next in a line of great Michigan tight ends, but things have gotten a bit interesting in his recruitment as he’s recently taken visits to Penn State and Notre Dame . However, Olesh recently reaffirmed his pledge to the Wolverines when speaking to E.J. Holland of On3 ($). Oregon could also be getting another visit from the tight end soon.
“Just to clear things up, I’m still locked in with Michigan”

CB Shamari Earls
One of the most recent additions to the class, Sherrone Moore and company were able to pry Shamari Earls away from Georgia. Earls could be one of the next great defensive backs for Michigan and potentially be a candidate for early playing time. He’s made his claim to fame as a defensive back, but he’s also played some wide receiver. According to On3 , Earls had 29 receptions for 715 and eight touchdowns as a junior last year.
S Kainoa Winston
Kainoa Winston has been locked in with the Wolverines since the summer and will be a part of Michigan’s secondary of the future. The DMV product has made an impact on defense this year of course, but has also been impactful on offense and special teams during his senior season. Check out this kick return touchdown he had earlier this fall:

CB Jayden Sanders
Another member of a robust defensive back class for Michigan, Texas native Jayden Sanders has been committed to the program since early August. Sanders has shown some versatility on the high school fields, scoring nine touchdowns on offense as a junior in addition to his three interceptions. He’s also a three-sport athlete that runs track and plays basketball.
OT Avery Gach
Avery Gach was a priority for Michigan considering that he’s the No. 2 ranked player from Michigan according to the 247Sports Composite , second only to quarterback Bryce Underwood. In his scouting report , Allen Trieu lauded Gach for his physicality and ability to “finish plays.” That shows up on the tape as seen in this play from earlier this fall:

WR Jacob Washington
Standing at 6-foot-3, Jacob Washington represents a big-bodied target that the wide receiver room at Michigan badly needs. The Louisiana native also runs track and plays basketball. His recruitment might not be entirely closed though, as he recently went on an unofficial visit to Missouri for its game against Oklahoma.
RB Jasper Parker
A teammate of Jacob Washington at Archbishop Shaw in Louisiana, Jasper Parker is Michigan’s top-ranked running back in the class. He’s been locked in with Michigan since June of 2024 and will look to be the next in a line of great Michigan running backs. He made a nice play on a screen pass earlier this fall when On3’s E.J. Holland was in attendance for one of his games:

Edge Jaylen Williams
No, this isn’t one of the Jaylen Williams’ from the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he could be one of the next great edge rushers for Michigan. Williams is a great blend of size, speed, and strength according to Allen Trieu of 247Sports . He’s also got plenty of height and length standing 6-foot-6, which should make him an excellent ball of clay to be molded by Michigan’s staff.

Edge Julius Holly
Another edge commit for the Wolverines, Julius Holly is a bit smaller than Williams, checking in at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds. The Georgia native registered 57 tackles, 8 sacks, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble during his junior season according to 247Sport s. He’s been committed to the Wolverines since the end of June.
RB Donovan Johnson
Johnson represents the second-highest-ranked running back committed to Michigan in the 2025 cycle. He’s a bit bigger than Jasper Parker, coming in at 6-foot, 205 pounds. He’s from IMG Academy in Florida and had 257 yards and three touchdowns in seven games as a senior.

Three-Stars
TE Eli Owens
The second-highest-ranked tight end in Michigan’s 2025 class, Eli Owens has been committed to the Wolverines since January. Owens comes more in the H-Back mold at 6-foot-2 and 243 pounds, so he could be in line to be Ben Bredeson’s successor. He’s also been one of the more vocal members of the class that’s been playing a role in the recruitment of his future teammates.
“When I was at Ohio State they never talked to me about what would happen if football didn’t work out… At Michigan that was like the first meeting.”

IOL Kaden Strayhorn
Strayhorn is another member of the Wolverine recruiting class that comes out of the IMG academy in Florida, but he’s originally from Detroit and the son of former Michigan State center Jason Strayhorn. Listed as an interior offensive lineman and projected to play center at the next level, Strayhorn played right tackle this fall for IMG. He was recently in Ann Arbor for Michigan’s game against USC.
DL Bobby Kanka
Bobby Kanka has been playing a pivotal role for a currently undefeated Howell High School squad that’s making its way through the Michigan state playoffs. He’s played some tight end but is best as a defensive lineman, where he’ll play in college. He’s rated as the No. 5 player from the state of Michigan by the 247Sports composite .

DL Benny Patterson
Another recent addition to the class, Benny Patterson flipped to Michigan from Cincinnati after visiting the Big House for the Michigan State game. He’s an additional asset for the defensive lines of the future. Check out this scoop-and-score he had in a game earlier this fall:
Here is the touchdown from Michigan commit Benny Patterson to seal a win for Castle over Floyd Central, 35-21. Highlanders had the ball inside the 20.

LB Chase Taylor
Chase Taylor represents the only inside linebacker currently committed to the Wolverines in the 2025 cycle. The Georgia native registered 73 tackles and six sacks, as well as three forced fumbles as a junior in 2023. He stars on the basketball court in addition to playing football.
WR Jamar Browder
Jamar Browder is another addition to the class from Michigan’s recruiting push this fall, recently flipping from North Carolina State. He’s a big-bodied target coming in at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. The Florida product had 43 receptions for 928 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games as a senior this fall. He’s also got a knack for amazing catches, as seen below:
