With just four months until National Signing Day, we take a look at the state of Michigan wide receiver recruiting. Ron Bellamy has his sights set on a pair of top-100 prospects and some slot receivers to round out the class:
Michigan’s two leading pass-catchers from the 2023 season, Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson , are off to the NFL. Now, wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy will look to a talented, yet inexperienced group led by Tyler Morris and Semaj Morgan to lead the way for the upcoming season.
Bellamy has taken his swings at big time receivers on the recruiting trail over the last few cycles, but Michigan’s run-first reputation has led to mixed results. However, momentum may be shifting with Bellamy being elevated to Passing Game Coordinator, along with Kirk Campbell hinting at plans to open up the offense.
Today, we take a look at the state of wide receiver recruiting for Michigan in 2025.
Committed Prospect
Michigan’s lone commitment at the position is 6-foot-3, 180-pound Jacob Washington out of Archbishop Shaw High School in Louisiana. The composite four-star was offered by Bellamy in April while on an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor. He then took his official visit in June for Victor’s Weekend and committed not long later.
Washington projects to play the X spot in Michigan’s offense, the position most recently manned by Cornelius Johnson. Prior to earning Washington’s pledge, Bellamy hadn’t landed a wide receiver over 6-foot-1 since the 2022 cycle when he signed Darrius Clemons (6-foot-3, now with Oregon State ) and Amorion Walker (6-foot-4, now playing receiver again with Michigan after switching to defensive back in 2023 and briefly transferring to Ole Miss ).
Washington boasts sufficient speed (self-reported 4.4 40-yard dash) and a projectable frame for the college level. Bellamy has excelled at developing the talent available to him, and Washington should eventually be an impact player for the Wolverines.
Trending Prospects
Andrew Marsh , a composite top-100 receiver in the 2025 class, is just days away from announcing his commitment. Michigan is the unanimous favorite to land the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder when he goes public with his pledge on Aug. 20.
Marsh would be the highest ranked wide receiver recruit Bellamy has landed at Michigan, and a crown jewel of the 2025 offensive class. He will likely play the Z at the next level, where Ronnie Bell saw much success in his career and where Tyler Morris will feature this upcoming season.
Jerome Myles is a top-50 prospect and another receiver to keep an eye on. Myles was previously committed to Ole Miss but decommitted in June before taking a number of visits over the summer, including an unofficial to Ann Arbor for the BBQ at the Big House.
Similarly to Washington, Myles would project to the X spot in Michigan’s scheme. At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds with elite track speed (4.48 40-yard dash, 10.36 100-meter) he has arguably the highest ceiling of any prospect on Bellamy’s board this cycle.
Rivals’ Adam Gorney reports the Wolverines may currently be the team to beat. However, Myles is planning several visits to other contenders on his top-10 list before he shuts down his recruitment. Bellamy will push to get him back to campus for an official visit this fall.

Prospects To Monitor
Roman Wilson wreaked havoc on opposing defenses from the slot in Michgan’s offense. Bellamy thought he had the heir apparent to Wilson after he landed the commitment of speedster Phillip Wright out of Destrehan, Louisiana in mid-July. Unfortunately, the hometown LSU Tigers came calling and Wright decommitted from the Wolverines just three weeks later and subsequently joined the Tigers’ class.
With both the X and Z receiver spots seemingly in focus, Bellamy will turn his attention the remainder of the cycle to finding a slot receiver to round out the class. Options will emerge as prospects showcase their skillsets during their senior seasons, but there are also some prospects committed elsewhere worth monitoring.
Bellamy offered three-star Jamauri Brice out of Cartersville, Georgia back in February before he ultimately committed to Georgia Tech . However, The Wolverine’s EJ Holland ($) reports Bellamy is back in contact with Brice and there is still reciprocal interest.
Brice told Holland, “Michigan is still on my radar. I like Michigan. They play good football. I want to go somewhere I can compete, so I feel pretty good about Michigan.” Brice also said an official visit to Ann Arbor is in the plans.
Holland also has the scoop on another slot receiver committed elsewhere that Bellamy is in contact with. LeBron Bond, a three-star from Norfolk, Virginia, is currently committed to Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers . Bond, who runs a 10.6 100-meter, does not currently have an offer from Michigan, but Bellamy is monitoring him while reassessing the wide receiver board.
Final Thoughts
Michigan will likely take at least three receivers in the 2025 cycle to restock the room. With Washington already on board and Marsh likely joining the class next week, Bellamy will look to add a slot receiver to complement them before National Signing Day in December. However, the class could expand to four if Bellamy is able to win out for an elite talent like Myles.
Washington and Marsh form a solid foundation for the receiver class, but adding a player like Myles in addition to a formidable slot would be a milestone achievement for Bellamy on the trail.
