The Wolverines returned to their early-season form for about three-quarters of their 80-76 win over Oregon. The offense was humming, Danny Wolf was in his bag, and threes were falling. Michigan was getting up and down, pushing the pace and playing in a flow state we hadn’t seen for a few weeks.
The final ten minutes were anything but flow state. They looked more like the last few weeks, and the Wolverines had to battle their way to the finish, seemingly in spite of themselves.
It was Michigan’s 9th Big Ten win of the season — on February 5th — and a win that the Wolverines led for the final 32 minutes. A result that is decidedly positive but feels like it leaves behind a pretzel of emotions.
Every Big Ten win is a good win, but Michigan is playing a risky game by flirting with disaster regularly in the dog days of league play.
