Michigan will play Oklahoma (10-0) in the Jumpman Invitational at the Spectrum Center tonight in Charlotte (9:00 p.m., ESPN2). The Wolverines are looking for their first win at the showcase event, losing previous games to North Carolina and Florida.
The Sooners are off to a perfect start this season, claiming the Battle 4 Atlantis crown with wins over Providence, Arizona, and Lousiville and knocking off Oklahoma State in a rivalry tilt over the weekend. Despite the gaudy record and top-15 national ranking, Oklahoma checks in 14 spots behind Michigan on KenPom at 37th, thanks mainly to facing the country’s 315th most challenging schedule.
This is the second year in a row that Moser’s squad has gotten off to a 10-0 start. Last year’s squad fell to North Carolina in the same event, a feat Michigan hopes to repeat this year, and finished 20-12 to miss the NCAA Tournament.
The Sooners have a revamped roster built around a star freshman lead guard and an impressive portal class, providing one final chance for the Wolverines to grab a signature win in non-conference play.
